What you build on top of Pluto stays yours.

Change the code: Fork it, patch it, compile your own build and run it. Nothing phones home.
Build and sell on top: Extensions, industry verticals and country localisations you write are yours. EPL does not oblige you to publish their source.
Keep your data: Your database, on your infrastructure. Nothing to export, no notice period.
What is not open source: Pluto is, all of it. Nova, the supported edition, gives source access on its open source modules only.

Is Onfinity open source?

Yes. Pluto, the community edition, is licensed under the Eclipse Public Licence, with the full source on GitHub. Nova, the supported edition, gives source access on its open source modules only.

Can I run my business on Pluto?

Yes. Pluto is licensed for production use, with no user limit and no expiry. Commercial support comes with the supported editions; for a company running its business on the system, that is Nova.

Can I get support on Pluto?

Registered community members get 30 days of free support through the ticket system. After that the portal carries the documentation, the videos and the forum; commercial support is part of the supported editions.

What is in Pluto?

Is manufacturing in the free edition?

Yes. Bills of material, routings, MRP and work orders are in Pluto, with no user limit and no expiry. Make to order carries the sales order line on the work order; job work is costed back onto it.

Which technology is it written in?

C# on the .NET Framework, as an ASP.NET application on IIS, with PostgreSQL or Oracle as the database. The stack, the repositories and the build are on their own page.

Where do I get the source code and the packages?

The source is on GitHub. Installation packages for PostgreSQL and Oracle, and the Docker deployment, are on the download page.

Can I develop my own features on Pluto?

Yes. Every tool of the Application Dictionary is in Pluto: new tables, windows, fields, rules, processes and reports, and the full source for anything beyond that.

Do I have to publish the source of my extensions?

No. The Eclipse Public Licence lets you develop and distribute extensions without releasing their source. Extensions, verticals and localisations you write are yours, and can be sold through the Onfinity Market.

Can I publish on the Onfinity Market?

Yes. Registered community members publish their extensions on the Market, where other installations find and install them.

Can I build a product on Pluto?

Yes. Pluto carries the low-code platform, and the licence allows a commercial product on top. ISVs building a vertical usually take the partner programme, which adds the supported editions, training and support.

Where is the documentation?

Manuals, business process flows, sample project plans, video tutorials and training are in the community portal, free to register for. The development guide is on the public wiki.

Can I offer services on Pluto to my customers?

Yes, anyone may implement Pluto for a customer. Onfinity's partner programme, with training and support, works on the supported editions.
